Q: What is eTill?
A: eTill is a complete point-of-sale (POS) and operations bundle designed to help Canada's small, independent retailers to improve their operational efficiency and compete in today's complex marketplace.

This all-in-one system of products and services, combined with RCC's extensive roster of retail resources and training materials, will offer independent retailers everything they need to focus on their customers and run their business successfully.

Q: Who are eTill's partners/providers?
A: RCC has partnered with Scotiabank (financial solutions), Rogers Business Solutions (Internet connectivity), Chase Paymentech (payment processing), IBM (POS hardware), Multipost Retail Systems (category-specific POS software) and Windward Software (category-specific POS software) to develop eTill. In addition to supplying the following products and services, eTill partners will provide training and customer support services.

Q: What are the other advantages of eTill?
A: This all-in-one system will help merchants who sell anything from apparel to tableware, enhance their business from the sales counter, to the storeroom, to the back office. eTill provides added value with customized merchandise and service-specific features such as inventory and accounting management, purchase orders and work orders, CRM and more.

Q: Who is eTill intended for?
A: eTill is primarily designed to help Canada's small, independent retailers compete in today's complex marketplace.

eTill contains products and services bundled specifically for the small retailer to manage their core business operations. While eTill is bundled with core products and services, the system can be customized and is designed to be scalable as an independent retailer's needs change. There are also custom features for most merchandising and service categories.

Q: Why are you offering this?
A: With an ever-changing consumer and an increasingly competitive market, Canada's independent retailers are constantly challenged by prohibitive technology costs, lack of affordable turnkey systems and the speed and overwhelming scope of technological options. It also allows merchants to avoid the timely and costly search of finding the right POS solution and focus on serving their customers and running a successful retail operation.

Therefore, RCC sought out partners who are leaders in their respective fields and created eTill.

Q: How is eTill different from other "store in a box" offerings in the marketplace?
A: eTill is a great example of larger business coming together to create an innovative business solution to help small retailers compete and succeed.

eTill's product and software providers are leaders in their respective fields and have bundled everything an independent merchant needs, combined with the benefits of RCC's retail resources, tools and training materials.

Q: Do I have to be a member of Retail Council of Canada (RCC) to purchase eTill?
A: Yes. In order to take advantage of eTill's bundle of point-of-sale (POS) and operations system specifically designed to meet the needs of small, independent retailers, we encourage you to become a member of RCC. By becoming a member of RCC, retailers also can take advantage of industry resources, tool, training materials and benefit programs.

Q: As a business owner, what if my needs change — will eTill be obsolete?
A: eTill has been designed to be scalable and to adapt to your changing/evolving business. eTill has also been designed so that additional programs/functions can be added in the future.
